EverLaith Foundation
Merit Scholarship

EverLaith Foundation is dedicated to continuing the legacy of Shariq Laith Haider through his alma mater, St. Benedict's Episcopal School by awarding the EverLaith Merit Scholarship to two students that exemplify outstanding character and integrity through excellence in academics, strong values through athletics/extra-curricular activities, and involvement in the service of their community.

Award Criteria

EverLaith Foundation is committed to awarding students who understand the value of going above and beyond the norms to demonstrate a commitment to an education that involves:

 

  • Academic excellence

  • Participation in athletics and/or extra-curricular activities

  • Community service

 

Our vision for the EverLaith Scholarships is to empower young minds to understand that the benefits of academic achievement, athletic/extra-curricular activities and community service go well beyond wins and losses and to promote/encourage/foster genuine curiosity and inquiry, good sportsmanship and teamwork, and empathy for others.

Everlaith Scholarship

Scholarship Award

For the 2021-22 Academic Year, EverLaith Foundation will award $1,000 each towards school tuition expenses to two (2) outstanding Middle School students currently enrolled at St. Benedict’s Episcopal School in Smyrna, Georgia.

Scholarship Nominations

There are two ways that a Middle School student can be nominated for the EverLaith Scholarships:

  1. Any Middle School teacher or staff member can nominate up to three (3) Middle School students based on the scholarship criteria of academic excellence, athletic/extra-curricular activities, and service to community. Once nominated the student will follow the application process provided below.

  2. Any Middle School student can self-nominate and follow the application process provided below.

Eligibility

All Middle School students currently enrolled in the 2021-22 academic year at St. Benedict’s Episcopal School in Smyrna, Georgia, maintaining an average academic score of 85 or above are eligible for the EverLaith Scholarships.

Charities We Support

APPLICATION DEADLINE: MARCH 25, 2022

A typed personal statement by the applicant (500 words or less) explaining why they should be considered for the award based on the above scholarship criteria.

Selection Process

  1. The Scholarship Committee will review all applications and select four (4) finalists based on the award criteria.

  2. The committee will interview all four finalists.

  3. Based on the applications and interviews, the committee will award the $1,000 scholarship to each of the two (2) winners.

  4. The two (2) runners-up will receive consolation prizes.

Award Ceremony

The Scholarship Committee will announce the four finalists on April 1, 2022, conduct the interviews, and select the two award winners and two runners-up by May 2, 2022. The scholarship awards will be presented to the winners on May 6, 2022. The awards will be disbursed from EverLaith Foundation to St. Benedict’s School and applied towards the students’ tuition expenses for the current academic year.

Winners and Runners-Up Responsibilities

Remain committed to the spirit of the award through continued academic excellence, participation in sports and extra-curricular activities, and dedication to community service.

Be an ambassador for the award through various promotional activities throughout the year with EverLaith Foundation staff.

Participate in the general upkeep of the EverLaith Memorial at St. Benedict's Middle School Field.
